...for five Players, shadows, and Sound Engineer (2023)
clarinet, trombone, cello, electric bass, percussion, multi-tracked and spatialized engineering
For Dolby Atmos
...for five Players, shadows, and Sound Engineer is a piece for live instruments, duplicate recordings, foley, and spatialization, deisnged explicitly for the Dolby Atmos spatialized audio system.
As the piece progresses, copies of each player arrive at the scene to lend their version of the same music to the cumulative output, growing the original 5 performers up to 20 by the end of the work. From the start, spatialization is a constant factor, with players performing audial choreography that builds into impossibility as they progress from stepping around the listener to climbing into water tanks, falling through infinite portals, and zipping at lightning speed around your modular listening room.
